Zecotek Announces Name Change; To Present at Nuclear Science Symposium and Medical Imaging Conference

Vancouver, October 24, 2007 - Zecotek Medical Systems, Inc. (TSX-V: ZMS; Frankfurt: W1I.F) today announced that it has changed its name to Zecotek Photonics Inc. effective October 26, 2007.  The name change better reflects the broad range of industries and applications of the company’s photonic product portfolio.  The company will have a new CUSIP number: 98912P104 and will retain the TSX Venture Exchange stock symbol “ZMS�?.

Zecotek also announced today the Company’s participation in the Nuclear Science Symposium (NSS) and Medical Imaging Conference taking place in Honolulu from October 29 through November 3, 2007.  Dr. A. F. Zerrouk, Zecotek’s Chairman, President and Chief executive Officer will participate in Exhibitor Technical Sessions with a presentation on Zecotek’s latest photonic technologies.  Zecotek will also display products and product information at a dedicated company booth.

The Nuclear Science Symposium offers an outstanding opportunity for scientists and engineers interested or actively working in the fields of nuclear science, radiation instrumentation, software and their applications, particle detector design, and the High-Energy Physics community to meet and discuss with colleagues from around the world. The program emphasizes the latest developments in technology and instrumentation and their implementation in experiments for space, accelerators, other radiation environments, and homeland security.

The Medical Imaging Conference is the longest standing and most respected international scientific meeting on the physics, engineering and mathematical aspects of x-ray and nuclear medicine based imaging. Each year significant innovations in all forms of medical and biomedical imaging are welcomed and presented, as x-ray, nuclear medicine (emission imaging and radioisotope therapy) and its technologies intersect and overlap with many arenas of medicine (e.g., Radiology, Cardiology, Neurology, Oncology) and their technologies. This conference is an excellent venue for communication and discussion of novel medical and biomedical imaging technologies and uses. Average attendance to previous NSS-MIC meetings has been approximately 1400.
